Omaha Show - "Apartment Loud"?!?

Founders!

Okay look, I know I usually use this space right after a Foundation show to wax ecstatic about their set list/laser light show/competent sound crew, but did any of you show up in time to see the opening band at last night's concert in Omaha? They were sick! "Apartment Loud" from Boston...I've been to a lot of Foundation shows (and have the swollen calves to prove it - Jason, you know what I'm talkin' about!), but I've NEVER seen an opening act like this one. They opened their set by playing 5 minutes of collected footage from John Hughes movies on the ceiling, followed by the most INSANE cover of "Don't You Forget About Me" I've ever heard! Seriously - The bass player RAPPED the entire third verse, and I'm pretty sure the drummer worked in a Neal Peart solo! STUNNING.

The rest of their set was equally thrashing, but honestly, it was just a warm-up for the Foundation themselves...

5 words. Snaggletruth. Suburban Legend. Space suits.

Discuss.

  1. I CAN'T BELIEVE U SAW APARTMENT LOUD! Dude, I was just talking about them to someone in my calc class the other day. They didn't believe me/didn't care. But we know the awesomeness and we dare to proclaim it! I saw them at the surprise show in Hickory, NC in the parking lot at Subway. The way they opened up with the John Hughes clips was awesome. Granted, there was no ceiling in the parking lot. But it still rocked. Nothing beats a sweet Foundation set though.
More people need to jump on the Foundation Station!
    ROCK.
